Organiser Isla Wil- lis says Saturday's luncheon has now sold out at the hall which has limited space. We're bursting at the seams,'' she says. However, tickets are available for Friday's mix and mingle even- ing. A combined church service is on Sunday from 10am at the hall, preceded by parades from the Kaukapakapa Church in Peak Rd and St Cuthbert's Presby- terian Church. Par- ades leave at 9.30am on foot or horse and trap, with piper Andrew Hayward heading St Cuthbert's procession and a selec- tion of vintage cars will accompany par- ishioners from Peak Rd.The service will fol- low after a powhiri led by Nick Rata and received by John Osborne. Refreshments and the cutting of a cele- bratory cake finish the service. Gearing up for the district picnic from noon at Sinclair Park are the voluntary organisations with fun and games for chil- dren. The park was opened on the 100th anniversary of Kaukapakapa in 1960. Picnic organiser Norm Maclachlan says there will be a host of traditional events including gumboot throwing, sack races, obstacle relays, pony rides, bouncy castle, face painting and a water slide. Art display Waimauku School pupils' art show is on December 1 at the school's small hall from 8.30am to 6pm. Among the display will be work by students in an art extension programme.
