Come on in & see for yourself 3503558AA Lydia joins United Travel Westgate Lydia Thompson recently joined United Travel Westgate, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the agency. With a background in fares and pricing while at KLM andAir France and extensive travel throughout Europe and Asia, Lydia can draw on her vast knowledge of destinations, airlines and hotels to help you plan a holiday that suits your desires and your budget. When you book travel through the internet, you have to take whatever is offered - while a travel agent can find options that are not always listed on websites. Furthermore, with the internet you have no contact person to help you if anything goes wrong. A travel agent provides a point of contact for help with unforeseen events and support if you need to make a claim for refunds, lost property or medical issues. For example, Lydia had clients travelling to Egypt who had to cancel due to unrest in the country. She was able to help them resolve their insurance claim for cancellation by checking the details of their policy. Together with her colleagues Lesley Johns and Jan Glover, Lydia shares a passion for what they do and a commitment to doing the best possible job for their clients. They welcome feedback from clients about all aspects of their travel. As they say at United Travel Westgate, ``We promise to share our love of travel. It's why we enjoy finding the perfect holiday for you.`` To contact United Travel Westgate, phone 831-0250 or visit www. unitedtravel.co.nz. Fun run in the sun Around 70,000 people took part in this year's Ports of Auckland Round The Bays Fun Run. All made the most of glorious weather to line up at Quay St before set- ting off on the 8.4km course to St Heliers. First across the finish line was Scott Winton who completed the course in 26 minutes and 19 seconds. Proceeds from the day will go to Kidney Kids, Koru Care, Waitemata Harbour Clean Up Trust and Fairfax First Books. Suburban Newspapers photographer Ben Wat- son was there to capture some of the the action on camera.
