Are you looking for a hot, tasty meal on a cold winter s night, a venue for your next special cel- ebration or somewhere to relax and unwind after work? Think Verve. It s the place to go. The atmosphere is warm and inviting -- the roaring fire makes the courtyard a popular place for a relaxing even- ing meal, especially on a cold winter s night -- and with the prospect of warm summer nights and daylight savings ahead, courtyard table bookings will be a must. Since it opened in June, Huapai s hottest new restaurant, with hints of the Original MiSaDa -- with which the new owners have a long association, has quickly become the meeting place for locals. Verve offers gener- ously sized well-priced meals, all of which include vegetables and potatoes. Verve s tal- ented head chef, who has previously worked at one of Auckland s top restau- rants, has created a menu full of creative flair with simple but delicious starters, entrees and mains. With something to suit all tastes, highly recom- mended dishes include the bacon wrapped chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese, spin- ach and pine nuts, with a red currant and black pepper jus; salmon (hot smoked to order) on a pear and watercress salad; and for the meat lovers among us export quality eye fillet and sir- loin, cooked to perfection and evoking more mem- ories of MiSaDA. Delicious desserts include a warm liquid centre chocolate pudding, Dom Pedros R18 milkshakes and yes, home-made apple pie. An after movie trip, just for their delicious hot chocolate and a des- sert is highly recom- mended. They are more than happy to accommodate your individual tastes and dietary require- ments, with both veg- etarian and gluten free options available, as well as a children s menu, where the colouring pencils are in high demand! Verve is fully licensed with a range of wine, spirits, beers and non alcoholic beverages available, and yes they are BYO wine! Verve is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm till late, and is available for weddings, birthdays and private functions. With both indoor and outdoor dining spaces Verve is the perfect venue for up to 70 people. Verve is located at 3 Matua Road in the heart of Huapai with ample free parking.
