Crowded variety: Right, Like the vehicles on display, the crowd also ranged from petrolheads to families on a cruisy day out. You name it -- the Classic Car and Hot Rod Festi- val in Kumeu had it. The 18th annual event saw more than 35,000 attend despite wet weather. Organiser Ken Galvin was happy with the weekend's turnout with hot rod and classic car clubs, including the Mid- west and Huapai Hotrod clubs, bringing many of their prized possessions to the Kumeu showgrounds. Saturday was the biggest day thanks to the fine weather, with about 300 vehicles on show,'' he says. Other events like a wood chopping compe- tition by the Auckland Axeman Club and the Saturday night hop, Roc- kit2012 kept the crowds entertained.
