Summer fun: Jojo's has plenty of outdoor play space. There are exciting times ahead at Jojo's Child- care. With newly restruc- tured classrooms spread- ing three key age groups over six teaching spaces, as well as a new pricing schedule and more flex- ible bookings, the options are endless. Jojo's centre philos- ophy is based around the principles of holistic development and learn- ing through play. Each day children in every room get the chance to be involved in free play between inside and outside spaces; co- constructed learning with teachers and peers; semi-structured parts of the day including mat- times and meal times as well as self directed learning using a wide range of age appropriate resources and equip- ment. All the indoor class- room environments have huge double doors that open to the outdoor environment. The permanent climb- ing structures in both preschool spaces make it feel just like you're on a visit to a local park. The infant's and tod- dler's environment sits in the heart of the build- ing with two classrooms giving space for infants to grow, learn and be nurtured and for todd- lers to get busy and explore while still being able to visit the babies through adjoining doors. Staff ratios sit above that required by the Ministry of Education and 90 per cent of staff are qualified with the others all in training or starting this year. The senior teaching/ management team of four has more than 45 years of combined teach- ing experience and the rest of the staff range from one to 15 plus years teaching experience. At Jojo's Childcare they treasure all chil- dren and believe that all should be cared for by understanding loving staff with a passion for young people and their futures. They are currently taking enrolments across the centre so stop in and meet the team at any time or call Sarah or Jo 09 412 5325.
