They took $1480 worth of Dewalt builders gear and a Navman GPS unit last weekend. A teenager s black BMX bike was also taken from outside a Tapu Rd, Kumeu address. The fairly old bike, which disap- peared around January 29, has distinguishing features of two metal round foot rests attached to the centre of the back wheel. Photo: JASON OXENHAM The NZ Transport Agency has launched a new set of free Bike Wise resources including guides on running in-house cycle events, cycle safety, benefits of cycling and helpful suggestions on how to improve workplace cycling facilities. Go By Bike Day on February 13 is part of February s Bike Wise Month and companies are encour- aged to launch their own cycle programme. Workplaces that register at bikewise.co.nz may receive a goodies box. Prime Minister John Key will officially open the new surf club- house at Muriwai on February 23. The project, overseen by the Muriwai Lifeguard Service Amenities Trust, will finish a 14-year journey for the club. The $5.1 million facility will also be home to groups like the sports fishing club, a playgroup, arts trail, the environmental action trust and a film group. Auckland Transport wants pub- lic feedback by February 28 on its proposed bylaw to regulate the display of election signs across Auckland for parliamentary and local body elections. The bylaw will allow for election signs to be displayed on specified public sites visible from the road, private sites and on vehicles.
